nerv's bio

Nerv started in 1999, when Pedro Diaz entered college at Monterrey, Mexico. Combining misanthropy and shredded newspapers, Pedro busied himself remembering how to play an electric guitar (his journey through the dark and shameful path of cuban trova is all too well documented) while honing his peculiar ability of turning people into old copies of Mad Magazine.

Needless to say, Nerv required members, though (there's just so much a man can do with a monkey on drums and the orchestrator of a 100 USD Casio keyboard). Not one to procastrinate, Pedro set out to the big and thrilling world seeking for kindred souls. It would not be until late 2001 when Pedro remembered that He should've been looking for band members as well. On November he found Lala while sitting under a tree. 'Get Used' sprang from the first session. Now they only needed a competent rythm section. The poor bastards didn't know what was coming their way.

Not a word will be wasted on the countless formations that Nerv has experienced through all the years. As Pedro and Lala found out: good and committed bassists and drummers are a scarce resource in the grey-ashen ranch/city of Monterrey.

Nepenthe was found in the form of an hondurean drummer and a nationless bassist, and was rapidly quaffed, easying our pains and throwing to oblivion the memories of drummers who couldn't play 7/8 and sociopath bassists without bass (or amp, or moral restraints).

Nevertheless, Nerv has always been a-giggin' and a-playin' and a-recordin' (and a-payin' obscene amounts of money for overpriced rehearsal studio time). The band's site offers proof of all those achievements (as well as of Nerv's website budget).

Nigh a year and three-quarters have passed since Nerv went to conquer England and got stabbed by a traitor drummer. They can't wait to go back. Also, Pedro can't wait to finish typing the band's bio since it is 3:46am and he is running out of wit and out of words starting with 'n' to begin each paragraph with.

Nourishing this barren planet, 'Señor con Sanitario', Nerv's first official self-produced EP, has been released on August 25th. It will be available on brick & mortar stores in México, on internet stores for the rest of the world, and everyone will buy it.

Now this bio reaches its end. It is somewhat tiring writing in third person (even more while fighting with a psycho cat from hell).
